    Favorite Reel?

What is your favorite reel? You can add a choice if I don't have yours listed.

Shimano Chronarch CH100D7 (Japan model, before they switched to the E models). I have 5 of them in my line-up. If anyone has any of the CH100D5 models they are interested in selling, please let me know.

This is the model I am interested in, NOT the newer models.

abu revo's hands down you wont find a finer reel.unmatched drag capability and cast a mile.once u have them broke in they are awsome.

Baitcasters - Swedish built Ambassadeurs. I just like the way a round reel sits in my hand.

Spinning reels - The Shimano line from the Sedona up. NOT the Spirex or any of their lower priced stuff.

Here's a few of mine in this order.

    1. My 2 DAIWA STEEZ ULTRA 100SHA
    2. My 2 LEW'S TOURNAMENT PRO EP1SH
    3. My Japan import DAIWA PX 68 SPR
    4. My 2 QUANTUM PT SMOKE 100
    5. My 2 SHIMANO STRADIC CI4 2500F
    6. My Japan import DAIWA ALPHAS 103

The Steez, Lews, and the PX68 are all some damn sweet reels. Ther're gonna be hard to beat in my book.

daiwa px-r type r then pixilla. it's funny that the pixy is mentioned in the first page of this thread that started back in 04'.
i've been a revo fan since they came out and have traded back for 3 of the 2nd gen premiers.
i liked the mgx, but not the newer revos. the gearbox sits to low for me on the newer ones and all the black on most of the reels/handles looks cheap.
i think shimano used to be great but has missed the boat on the swept handles.
they should switch back the chronarch and curados to the last styles and add swept handles.
having said that i'm still looking to get a scorpion dc to try out. if i love it i'll add my own swept handle.
    i like the
    lews
    quantums
    shimano
    td-ito
    revos
    daiwa
    steez
    but i love the px-r and pixilla/pixys.
i don't think you can go wrong with any of the higher end reels on the market today.

well, two years later and i see shimano finally caught on with the swept handle... my favorite is still the px-r type R... have 2 now... if the tws is added to this reel i'm sure it would add some casting distance but not sure if the extra weight would be worth it..
my new runner up are the 13 fishing reels... i've fished 2 concept a's all season without a problem... i'm planning on getting 2 of the c's.. small, light, swept handle with cork knobs... what's not to love..
i only fish as a hobby and part of the fun for me is trying different reels so i've owned several brands.. to be honest, there's not really a bad reel being made nowadays... every once in a while i'll try a cheaper sub $100 reel and wonder... why do i spend over a $100 for a reel.....lol
    007.jpg001.jpg006.jpgfor sale rod5.jpg
these are just the reels i've owned the last couple of years... i also gave the tatula R reels a try this year and for some reason they just feel to big when i'm palming the reel... i think it's how high the tws sits...

50MG, have sold almost all my other reels and have these except for my braid reel and my DD22 reel (all have the carbontex drag washers).
