Some True Custom Baits Painted

Here are a few custom baits that I had the chance to paint. Marty Burns makes some of the finest balsa baits that I have thrown. Here is some square bills, It has a really hard thump and gets down to about 5ft.

    Marty's Squarebill

4 of them painted in Foiled Threadfin Shad

Here is Tater Hog's Hoochie Mommas had the opportunity to paint two of these!! Some Wicked Looking Baits!!

    Bluegill Hoochie Momma

    Candy Apple Sunfish

    Sharky Shad on a BBZ

Moonlight Shad on a Reaction Strike 7" Swimbait, Added Fiber Optic Eyes to this one.

The Ace (Has a colorshift back, Blue-Green)

Marty Burns (BigM) makes some of the finest balsa baits that I have thrown, a big AMEN to that. It is so good to see someone paint something other than the Chinese crap. There is no doubt in my mind that if you put one guy in the boat with one of Marty's cranks and four others with the Chinese crap, his bait would whip their tails without breaking a sweat.
Great work on your part also, great baits deserve an excellent finish.

Thanks Whittler, You my friend have some very nice carving skills of your own!!

I admire all the lure makers, that carve their own baits. Each of them have a different story of their own. Most all customs are different in some kind of way. I know there is a lot of time that goes into each bait carved. I try to avoid the chinese crap myself, but thats getting harder to do with store bought baits.
I cant wait to throw the square bill this fall, I know its going to load the boat!!

I know this is an ancient thread, but any help in contacting Marty Burns would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't heard from Marty in a long time......Whittler either for that matter.
I know I heard a while back that at least one of them passed. I can;t remember
specifically which or if both did. I have about 6 of Marty's blk/chart B-1 style baits.
    I haven't thrown a Bagley's B1 since I got those baits 10yrs ago.
    Question everything!
