    ? About Jigheads

I'm about to order a mold to pour my own jigheads...tired of paying over $1 each for them
    Looking at these two:

    My question:
When dealing with around 1/8-1/4 oz does the football head really have an advantage at all over the round head? I know with heavier, 3/8-3/4 oz jigs, it makes a difference by reducing the amount of hangups in rocks, but would I see any advantage with smaller weights?

Any feeback would be great...hoping to buy this stuff fairly soon so I can start saving some money

If you fish weeds, Get the round head..... Rocks, Get the football.

I have both molds and in the 1/8oz size that I use most of the time I cannot tell any difference. The larger sizes it matters but I do not know anyone that uses a heavy shakey head?

Use the 604 hooks by Gamakutsa not the brass ones. You will have to do a little modifcation on the mold but that is not hard to do. It makes a huge difference in the jig.

    Re: ? About Jigheads (booneangler)

I have both molds and also use Gama hooks I have not had to do anything to the molds. They make great jigs.
By the way CSI now has a Green pumkin Powder paint that looks really good on them. You can get a pound for 18.00 .
here are the ones I have poured up.

    Good luck

One of the things that slows you up about powder coating is haveng to re-heat them and sprinkle it on or dip them. Is it possible with some practice to remove from the mold quickly with a pair of pliers and dip or powder them while they are still hot? Or is there to much waste to cut off?

I can't do it, I have tried. It cools off to fast. It doesn't take long to heat them with a heat gun dip and hit again with the heat gun to flow it over the jig. Then clean out the eye and stick them in the oven to cure.
