Replacing Lucky Craft split rings and hooks and eyes. Who makes them?

    Random question,

Who makes the split rings for Lucky Craft and who makes the stock hooks?
I'm leaning towards the hooks being Owner Stinger hooks but I may be very wrong.

Also, anyone know where I can buy the eyes to Pointer 100s or Staysees? I must have five or six with only 1 eye and a black permanent marker dot just doesn't do this lure justice

As far as the split rings, need to know for some Pointer 100s on the front split ring and the hook split rings. I got about 3 jerkbaits which are completely busted up and need my love.

    Thanks guys

    John

LC sells replacement hooks in 4, 6, and 8. I buy them in red and put them on the front treble as soon as I get my jerkbaits. As for the eyes you can get them at Bass Pro in various sizes or just get you a cheap bait with good eyes and pop em off and put em on your LC for a couple of bucks.

Owner Stinger hooks are very similar to the hooks that come on them. Not sure if they're the same but they're almost identical. That's what I replace my LC hooks with. If I'm shallow crankin' cover, like with an RC, I might change them 2 or 3 times in a tournament depending on if I'm hanging them and stuff.

I don't know about the eyes I just sharpied mine back. The hooks on a pointer 100 is a size 5. Have fun trying to find them I have been for months and everyone is out. I put 4's and they sank and 6's are too small. I have pointers without hooks right now. I wish they would of put a standard hook size.

LC hooks are many by VMC I believe as for yes I like the one from
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

For the price the BassPro rings are the way to go, the hooks are VMC's sharpened by Daiichi.

I'm in the same situation, got a pointer 100 that needs hooks... do you think a 4 on back with a 6 in front would work?

Re: Replacing Lucky Craft split rings and hooks ... (ks cranker)

I actually modified mine with a four on back and a six on front. Weird thing is, not all pointers weigh exactly the same. I've noticed that red trebles very slightly weigh more than the nickel trebles and of course the company hooks weigh different for their respective size. I usually throw on a red treble front and black treble back, but with a couple of the Pointers, the red treble will make it sink while a black treble (depending on company) will make it perfectly suspend. Sometimes I have to find the lightest trebles and from playing around with some of my jerkbaits in the sink for about an hour, I have found out that Owner Stingers black nickel are the lightest out of Daiichi, Gamakatsu, and VMC (Lucky craft ones sharpened by Daiichi). Size #4 front and #6 back has gone on five of my pointers now until I can find some #5s later on in the future.

VMC Diachi sharpened as said, if you need the odd sizes Cabelas sells a VMC Rapala replacement hook kit with them in it. The oval split rings can be had most places.
