    Custom Painted Crank Baits

Do you all think custom painted baits are worth the price. Saw some at 40 bucks a pop, fantastic paint job. Do bass really sit an analyze a bait that closely? I would think if its close to the food source in the lake or river it would be good enough.

I've seen a lot of great looking customs on here, just can't bring myself to pay for em. 6 Rapala DT's for the price of one custom crankbait.......

Agree.....once saw a 30 dollar custom crank bait go away with a happy fat catfish. Not gonna call any names but ya just walk to the back of the boat and say something like "Well it was a pretty bait wasnt it............"

I throw alot of baits painted by Kelly (www.customluresunlimited.com), he does an amazing job, finish holds up way better than off the shelf stuff too. I got a topwater plug that has caught hundreds of fish and been abused, barely a scratch on it.

Spo moved up north somewhere (MN?) havent heard from him in a good while.

Kelly's baits are top notch and Spo can paint the hell out of baits too. Kelly has continued to make baits with top quality paint jobs. He is or is among the best in the biz.

Spo does not paint at all anymore the way I understand it.
