    Patience....

I guess I'm a little behind the times but I finally got my DVR hooked up this weekend, and I was able to use it for it's primary purpose....recording Bassmasters!

So I'm sure most of you saw the Tennessee Triumph. I've watched that thing over and over, amazed at how Kevin Wirth just kept banging away at that same piece of wood. After the third or fourth cast I would have been moving on, but this guy just kept at it forever....and he winds up pulling some really nice fish out of there.

That's the kind of patience I need to learn....

I met an older gentleman down at Kerr a few years back. Everybody said he was the "king of the buzzbaits" and that's all he fished all year long.

He told me that he finds a laydown and just starts pounding it with a buzzbait. Moves his boat around it and hits it from every possible angle, then goes over it again. He said the fish finally get pissed off and attack the bait.

I watched him pull some nice lunkers out of the livewell, and sure-enough, the only thing he had tied on (that was on the deck) were buzzbaits.

in this month's bass master they are saying people out west are dead sticking flukes for an hour or more. now that is some patience for you. those that are doing this are being rewarded with some really nice fish. i wonder how anybody can have that kind of patience i know i don't!
