My grandson, his farther and I went bass fishing this past Sunday after church. We launched the boat at around 1:30 PM and proceeded up the Black Warrior here in West Central Alabama. We stopped at one slough and started throwing white and chart. spinnerbaits for about 30 minutes with no luck. We went farther up river and started pitching 3/8 oz. green pumkin jigs with a green colored craw as a trailer. In less than 2 1/2 hours we put 7 fish in the live well, the smallest was 3 1/2 pounds and the largest was almost 6 lbs. The bass were holding tight in the grass next to the bank in 1' to 5' of water. Most of the fish hit the jig on the fall but, some took it on the second or third hop. Anway, we had a great time and also released several smaller ones in the 13" size. We got back to the landing and my son said he had to be at work at the local paper mill in 1 hour and asked me if I wanted to clean the bass and I said no because I fillited out 30 crappie before church that I caught the day before so, we put them back into the river.
