    Mercury 4 stroke

How hard is it to add a hose kit to a 2023 225 4 stroke 3B406104?

    Thanks

When I had my new motor installed ~4 months ago, the dealer said that Mercury requires a rigging tube to be installed. I did not have one on my old efi, but luckily the new one came with it. So I was happy. But I’m assuming you are wanting to add one to an already rigged outboard?

Did mine a few months ago when the dealer didn't do a good job! I wouldn't say it's a walk in the park but if your mechanically inclined shouldn't be an issue. Have to unplug and unplug hook everything and run it through the tube and hook back up. Helps if you have a service manual. There is a certain way you have to run the 14 pin plug to be able fit it through.

Really the cable adjustments are the hardest part.

I installed a rigging tube on my 250. It wasn’t too bad but I didn’t know how to remove the small cover next to where the throttle/shift cables connect. That made it a struggle for me. I believe there are three bolts where the rigging tube connects to the motor. When you remove them that side cover can be removed. Then it should be a piece of cake. Just take pictures before you start removing everything so you have something for reference. Glad I did mine. Good luck.
