Ranger just released the New Z185

Still 20'10" for storage length and can handle up to a 175. I will be getting this one soon.

I think you mean still 18’8”. Back in the day a 188 was rated for 175 hp, and it ran well with that setup. 61-62 as I recall, compared to 57-58 with a 150. Very nice boat at that price point.

Changed that up still 20'10" for storage length. It will fit in the garage straight back with another car. The price point is blah it was like 34K in 2018 and now over 50 today.

I really like my new 518. What's the difference beside 2 inches shorter?

I really like my 2022 Z185 that fulfills my needs. I can hit 55 mph with a 21” Tempest and a few more with a 24” Tempest. Solid boat that fits in my garage and the budget. I’m not a tournament fisherman but it rides well in the lakes I like. I do like the center console on the newer model, but I added a center seat.

Not a fan. Not many options for the price, seems bare. No fiberglass fenders? No livewell pump out option. And who uses a MK edge TM? I didn't think they even made them anymore. I can't see myself paying 50K for it.

Just noticed the specs for the 24 model has a 93” beam compared to a 96” beam on the 22 model.

Totally agree. I have a 2021 and it does absolutely everything I need a boat to do. I was at 55 with mine but down to about 51 now. I did add a 4th battery and a bunch of tackle so I am assuming that is where I lost some speed. But very seldom run wide open. I love the way it fishes and is all the boat me and my wife need. Just have to find a dealer I can trust to service it.

Not a whole lot other than lower HP rating and a few less standard options, I really don't see why they came back out with it. The Z518 with a 200 is a much better combo.

Why would you want fiberglass fenders? They are nothing but a problem waiting to happen.

Never had a problem with my fenders. It's a Ranger! It's supposed to be the epitome of all bass boats. Why would they ever offer plane old metal fenders? I guess it would be a good platform to modify after purchase, but at 50K I would want a few more options.

When you go to the build option on that model, it shows fiberglass fenders, but the pictures don’t show it?? Not sure the build a boat for that model is accurate at this point either.

Metal fenders are far more durable, easy to keep clean and don't get damaged when you blow a tire. If given the choice I will always go with metal fenders over fiberglass.

I do prefer the metal fenders on my Z185 because of the new drivers in my family! I agree the 518 with the 200 is a better deal along with the Triton 18 TRX. I got mine for $43k so there is a huge increase for the new model. There are several other packages on the market with better features. Since the beam is shorter, is this a new hull or a carryover from a discontinued model?

The only thing about my boat that looks like crap is the fiberglass fenders give me metal fenders any day.
