I have arthritis in both hands and use White River, cut off finger 100% polyester gloves from Bass Pro. If my memory serves me right they are around $6 bucks a pair.

3M Temflex tape. It's a rubber tape with no adhesive, it sticks to itself only. It comes in rolls just like electrical tape and behaves just like it when wrapping it around stuff. Like mentioned, it sticks to itself and leaves no residue behind. It can't be unwrapped to remove it, it has to be scored with a sharp blade and peeled off. Good stuff

Might try work gloves with the pointer and thumb cut off (the gloves).

You need to adjust your grip and learn to reel backwards.

I love these gloves, very comfortable, or maybe try friction tape like you use on hockey stick blades and gloves?

There are several types of wrap like you are describing. But exactly where is the hurt? I ask because if it between the fingers where the reel stem touches then you might want to look at other reels. Some stems are thicker than others or have a weird edge that irritates. Also try the stem between different fingers. It may take a day to get used to but it could help.

if it’s just some padding. You can grab some tennis racket wrap at Walmart.
Hang on. I'll help you in 77 minutes.

I’ve always had the same problem. The fix that I’ve used for years is applying two Band-aids (one wasn’t enough) to the stem of the reel so that the gauze pad sits at the back of the stem and rests on my ring finger. Wearing sun gloves will provide additional padding.

    Use this heat shrink:

    https://www.amazon.com/eTekGo-findma...22&sr=8-3&th=1

    35mm will work best.

Cut a hole in the side wall of a piece as long as your reel seat. Work the reel foot into the hole, then slide it over the rod butt.

Under the heat shrink, place the reel feet into the seat hoods and tighten.

When you have everything in place, shrink with a heat gun.

Works fantastic with Tennessee handles too.

You didn't buy this reel from Temu or AliExpress by any chance?

Rescue Tape - stretches and adheres to itself - no sticky residue.
