    Hitch rattle

We purchased a bike rack (2” receiver), and it has a feature I like.
After you slide it into the receiver and put the pin in place, there is a knob on the outside end that
you can turn and it tightens up any slack or side gaps and eliminates any noise.

You have to loosen it by turning the knob, or it won’t come out.
My question is; are there any “plain” receivers that offer this option?
    Thx

I bought a hitch I can’t remember the brand but you tighten it up eith an Allen wrench work’s great. Got it off Amazon for about 50.00.

I bought a square u shaped clamp from etrailer.com that once installed stops the drawbar from rattling in the hitch, easy, quick to install, cheap and it works, I think it was a Brophy product.

I just bought this hitch from Amazon: Amazon.com: AC-DK Adjustable Trailer Hitch, Fits 2-Inch Receiver, 6-Inch Drop/Rise Heavy Duty Aluminum Drop Hitch,15,000 LBS GTW-Tow Hitch for Truck Jeep Trailer with Double Stainless Steel Locks, Not Loose : Automotive

It has a set screw that holds pressure on the metal and rubber bushings that keep it from vibrating. So far no hitch noise.

Amazon has many options to stop hitch rattle. I have the U bolt style clamp on my tow vehicles, They work.

Stowaway Hitch Stabilizer. Apologies, I initially used the Amazon descriptive name.

I don’t see how I could tow my boat with a stow away hitch.

Harbor freight has the u-bolt style one for 12.99.
That’s what I use. Just keep a ratchet with the deep well socket you need handy. Takes less than 10 seconds to tighten once you slide the hitch in.

I saw one once that had a big nut welded to the side, with a lock bolt. Once you installed the hitch, tighten the nut and no noise, can't remember where I saw it.

I'm not aware of any plain receiver that has what your describing as an option. I'm not saying they are not out there, just I'm not aware of any.

I use a anti hitch rattle that installs a U bolt with a piece of metal via two nuts. I rarely remove my draw bar but if I wanted to remove it would not take long to remove two nuts. There are several manufactures that sell a version of what I use. It 100% eliminates hitch rattle. Here is the least expensive one at $9. It is exactly like the one I use...

Get a piece of bunk carpet and slide it in on the bottom side as you put the hitch in. Worls great and most people have some carpet around so it's cost free.

A rattling hitch can be a sign of insufficient tongue weight.

This is same thing mine does. I just can’t keep the boat hooked up all the time.
