    All,

I am looking to try different shakey head jigs. Which ones are your favorite jig head to use?

    Thanks

FIVE Bass Tackle Ridge Kicker Shakey Head

I got tired of never being happy with what was out there so designed our own.

I tried several and wasn’t happy with any of them so I modified a Midwest finesse mold to take a VMC hook and make it weedless. That’s what I use now.

Just the regular strike king ball heads you get at Walmart.

I’m a fan of the missile warlock head. If I need a bigger hook, I go with the buckeye magnum spot remover.

Spot remover with the screw lock is hard to beat. Good head and hook that is readily available off the shelf. If you want a tungsten option I'm a big fan of the real deal tungsten heads

Anything with a keeper on the shank of the hook.

I don't like heads with a screwlock as I think they eat up your hook bite and orient the bait so that the point wants to go parallel with the plastic--into more plastic--when you set the hook vs. perpendicular where the point wants to exit out of the plastic. Those with a fixed screwlock (i.e., that doesn't pivot) are the worst of all. I know lots of people have luck with screwlock-style hooks, and I'm sure there are some that work. But I'm also sure that you can't mess up the ones where the point is already aimed in the right direction.

Z-Man SMH head. Most shakyheads just have too heavy a hook for my preference on spinning gear. I think they got the SMH hook just right.

I have been using them for about 15 years and have never had that happen.
