    Mercury Oil vs Quicksilver oil

New to the Mercury 4 strokes. I have a 2023 w250 pro xs serial number 3B376946. I'm looking to do my first oil change, should I go with 10w30 or the 25w40, full synthetic or syndetic blend? Is the mercury oil and quicksilver the same oil when compared to same specs just different branding? Appreciate it.

Yes, the only difference is the labeling and where they are sold - Mercury label from Mercury authorized outlets only, Quicksilver (same exact oil) sold at non-Mercury outlets, Bass Pro, WalMart, West Marine, etc...

Why not just use what Mercury recommends? I think Mercury recommends 10w30 synthetic blend. Owner's manual and the information on the inside of the door where you check oil level both gives the recommended oil.

Yes, it's now acceptable (though most manuals still specify the Synthetic Blend, some even specifically stating to NOT use full synthetic).

For this application, I strongly recommend the Synthetic BLEND.
