    Installing a thru hull transducer

When you set it, do you mash the transducer all the way down leaving only enough epoxy to seat? Or should it not be mashed down hard?

Are you talking about a shoot through or an actual through hull were you drill a hole and fasten/epoxy it in?

Mash it down, but not so much that it isn't level.

Surface prep on the face is important. Sand it with 600 grit, and clean it with alcohol first. Might want to warm the epoxy a little bit to make sure it has no bubbles in it.

Mash down, even a little twist.

After I mash it down and get level (the best I can tell) I'll place a brick or something heavy on too to keep it from moving or twisting until it's dry ( 24 hrs)....
