    Fortrex

Does anyone still use a Fortrex? I may need to replace my maxxum pro. Not sure I need spot lock. Just wondering if the Fortrex still had a following.

If my 2013 version ever quits, I hope to be able to replace it with another just like it.

Thanks for all the input. My maxxum pro just quit yesterday. I’m going to dig into it to see if I
can figure it out. While it would be nice to have spot lock, it just is not something I think I would use very much.

I used to hear good things about the Maxxum Pro motors (durable and reliable), I would have it rebuilt if spot-lock isn't that important to you. My Fortrex is still going strong after 12 years, but if I had to replace it, would go with a spot-lock motor.

Had an Ultrex which came on boat, replaced the steering, mother, sister and brother boards
etc. Good thing I kept Fortrex as back-up, that is now my primary TM .IMO it's bullet proof. Tacklewarehouse stilll has them in stock,
    May I recommend the U S 2 sonar equipped

I sold my ultrex 80 to get a 112 fortrex and a 36v lithium battery for my little xpress h18. Bullet proof and easy to work on

Well I figured out what was wrong. Shorted wire in the head. Saved a little money. Thanks for all the responses.

Still using a 2009 Fortrex. It works but mine almost feels like it's aged, meaning 50% feels like 40% when brand new, and my batteries are new. Anyone experience that? Either way, I would probably buy another new Fortrex if they were still $1200 haha.
