It helped me cuz I got promoted to sergeant when he retired!! His girlfriend had recently moved out and broken up with him right before he won it too!! My second buddy won $100k, he was a detective sergeant in the bureau.... he bought everyone on dayshift lunch, but of course kept working. Recently, my retired sergeant won $500k, got like $350k after taxes. He actually had the ticket in his wallet for 3 weeks before he decided to check it.. I very rarely ever play but maybe I should.....
I wouldn't run out and buy a ticket, your odds are almost exactly the same if winning either way.

One of my best friends won 500k on a scratch off. He was only 21.
Dad was an accountant and helped him invest it wisely. He pays cash for almost everything.

My old tournament partner and his wife won the Ohio lottery for $1 million back when the lottery first got started in Ohio. The problem was that two other folks also played the same numbers so the pot was split three ways. They got something like $18K a year for 20 years after taxes. They used it as mad money. Another fishing buddy's wife hit the lottery as part of a group where she worked. I never heard how much she got, but they lived very comfortably.

I asked my wife what would she do if I won the lottery? She Said take half the money and leave my A$$. I came home the other day and surprised her. I told her I hit the lottery, She screamed and asked how much I won. I told her $12, here’s $6 BYE.

Guy I use to work with hit it for $500K with his brother. He paid his house off and bought a new car. Said the rest was going for his kid's college fund, smart guy! There was also another guy who worked there that would play scratchers almost everyday. He got on a good little run and would hit it for $250-500 every week, and hit it for $1500 twice. Each time he would send a group text to all of us who were friends saying "don't bring lunch". That's how we knew he'd hit it again, lol.

I've never won a thing in the lottery, come to think of it, don't think I've ever bought a ticket either.

I think that I have asked this question before in the casino thread's. If you win and are ahead, it do'es not need to be a jack pot. Will you keep playing on the house money/Lottery win's ? Also it seem's that some think the big jackpot is the only prize when there are several way's to win. Also we get comps of room's, food, free play etc. from the player club cards including state lottery free play just for joining on-line in their promotions for free.

A close friend buys each family member a scratch off and puts them on her Christmas tree every year. Kids and Grandkids get to pick which ticket they want and scratch it off. 2022 her son scratched off and won $250K. This dude took the entire family to Hawaii for 14 days. Stayed in the nicest places, took the nicest tours. Ate in the best restaurants. Flew them all over on a charter jet out of Los Angeles. My friend said he had about $50K left after the trip. Paid his and his wife's cars off with the leftovers. What a cool thing to do for your family!!!

Worked at a casino. 30’s age gal won a million in lottery. Her boy toy would come in and get shit faced. Of course she was cautioned to keep him under control. She blew it all. $ is the root of all evil. “My mom”.
