I have to send my best buddy to heaven today.

I unfortunately have read other members with similar posts and it’s always sad. My boy “7” has been fishing with me and the kids for 14 years. He has a condition in his throat that when excited at all prevents him from getting air. I have known his last day was soon for sometime now so I have made sure I take him fishing whenever I can . Yesterday he and I went out and it didn’t go well. It turned out to be 12 hours of him grasping for air . Because it was a Sunday no vets in my area were open to end his pain. We made it through the night but today I have the horrible task of prepping him for his final trip.
I can’t express how much this dog has meant to me and my family. He literally has jumped up and put his paws around my neck while I sit in my chair and gave me big kisses for 14 years . His loyalty to me is like nothing I have ever known.
If you have a pet in heaven send a prayer to them and please ask them to welcome “7”

Sorry about 7. I cried like a baby when we had to put ours down a few years ago. Sorry.

It's never easy.....they're our family. Just try and remember all of the good times that you gave 7. The dog prolly has lived the life of Reilly so that is helpful when you start the grieving. Prayers your way....

Still, one of the hardest things to go through as a dog owner. My Hugo and Dutchess will be there on the other end of that rainbow bridge to welcome 7 with pure joy. Just think, 7 will be just as excited to see all of those pups, And with no gasping for air at all - no more suffering. You have many years of great memories....

It's always tough when your buddy crosses the rainbow bridge.

Give him a small chocolate bar with some peanut butter on it, one last final awesome treat for him.

It's hard to lose a best friend.. . Our time with them is so short.
