Do you use wire, braid or o rings to tie your skirts? I’ve used bands and didn’t like how the skirts don’t flare out, almost has very limited action in the water especially with swim jigs. I have a hard time getting braid or wire to tighten enough so it doesn’t slip. I thought about trying o rings

No I tie my skirts with upholstery thread the shirts are followed and cut in half an reversed tab end closed and tied. It creates the skirts to flare. Ive tied the way for over 35 years now.

Two tone skirts are built using the same method. Remember you dont need glue to lock the thread inplace after tying the sikirts.

Get some 26 ga wire and some wire twisting pliers. You can get ti as tight as you want.

Here a step by step on how to tie two tone skirts
First start by folding skirt in half
    IMG_20240413_155452723.jpg
    IMG_20240413_155503910.jpg
With your index finger and thumb fold the skirt in half wit the other hand take a pair
of scissors and run through the loop skirt pull down and cut. Do same with other skirt tab.
    IMG_20240413_155809429.jpg
You will have 4 half tabs
    IMG_20240413_155622445.jpg
Then put the jig or what bait you want to tie in the vise hook and weed guard up.
    IMG_20240413_155657353.jpg
Then tie thread on neck of collar trim of excess thread then take your first tab and fold it with the close up facing towards the hook.
    IMG_20240413_160031591.jpg
    Repete on bottom color
    IMG_20240413_160031591.jpg
Then add the third tab on top all around
    IMG_20240413_160110071.jpg
Then add the same tan to the bottom all around
Then with the tab ends showing you take a razor blade and cut away the excess away from the thread
    IMG_20240413_160258824.jpg
    IMG_20240413_160350902.jpg
After excess is removed flip over trip skirt end your down
    IMG_20240413_160521425.jpg
    IMG_20240413_160852529.jpg
When tying each skirt tab make one wrap then one half hitch knot repeat on every layer the three wraps and a couple half hitch then pull tight cut excess thread away. Your done take 3 to 4 minute to tie per jig or what ever bait your tying.

Yes I'm the original inventor of both the Puffball jigs 1984/85 and the Lions collar jigs 1986/87
Sorry I dont do videos but I'm not a big you tube fan. I'm more hands on type guy when it come to teaching People on how to tie jigs and other baits.
