Throwing the fish after culling them does not look great on the sport.

Are you talking about him tossing the fish overboard after he culled? How do you typically release your fish?
I don't "throw" any fish back into the water, not even trash fish. Don't really know why anyone would do that.

If fishing on a pier and not keeping the fish how do you release?
Hi Mike.
Did he put a tight spiral on it and go deep to Randy Moss, or just did a little RPO toss to the RB? I would suggest fishermen can do 50x more damage to a fish doing other things like over-handling or stepping on it to stop it from flopping around than giving it a little frisbee toss.
I doubt standing in the bottom of the boat and tossing a fish overboard is that detrimental to the fish. It must really be fish abuse to catch one standing up on the deck and tossing back without bending down. He did kiss it first. Does that count for anything?
Is he the same one who thought young Canada geese were called "ducks".....and that Canada geese ate bass? Nevermind- that was Justin Hamner..

"Yeah, but what about?" Talk about trying to make the exception the rule. Most fish are caught well under 20' above the waterline. Why throw a fish when it can be dropped or eased into the water without much effort? Sometimes it's less effort than throwing.
I used to catch mackerel from a pier. The most dangerous thing you can do is throw one back. People who aren't good at catching will get out the pitchforks and burn you at the stake! Crabs and harbor pollack can be returned to the sea safely
Some people are so judgemental. You can tell just by looking at 'em.--Some random meme
Seen lots worse in televised tournaments.
Can't say what I want, but that isn't going to hurt the fish.
Minimal handling and back in the water quickly.
Some fish stocking is done from dropping them out of a plane.
You know what's even worse? They are putting 5 of them in livewells and bouncing em around all day
Charmin soft
BH cause the kid is better fisherman?

my boater threw his fish and hit my rods the other day in a BFL while culling - I was like dude wtf are you doing.
I don't think throwing a fish into the water from the boat hurts them. Smallmouth jump almost that high on their own accord and I've never reeled in a dead one from it. Stocking via airplane is a common thing.
However, dropping them onto the ground or boat can bring on a slow death. I never hold up more than one per hand for that reason.
If you ask the fish I think he would take the toss over being beat in a livewell for an hour run in 4 footers.
