    Repowering from a 2003 HPDI 200 2.6

I've just started thinking about going to a newer four stroke SHO and am trying to determine how much of a project it will be. Are the 2003 gauges, controls, riggings, etc at all compatible? My knee-jerk guess is "no".

Does anyone have a good resource I can check out on this proposed project? My Google searches have not provided much solid information.

    Thanks!

I went from a 2001 OX66 to a new 2018 SHO. It was an easy swap. Shift and throttle cables, etc were the same but I had to buy the following:
    - Pro Series II tach #6Y7-83540-90-00 (it has the oil and temp warning lights) and wire harness for it...sorry I don't have part number.
    - Water pressure sending kit #688-83667-00-00 (the fitting for engine block).
The new motor came with battery cable and prop nut & thrust washer.
I found the SHO is much better on fuel, quieter, better low-end torque...

Thank you for this information. I was expecting a much bigger parts list.

If you have a Yamaha digital multifunction tachometer there is just a setting change to be made. One adapter harness needed.

Yamaha has made it easy to go from older models to newer models, or vice versa.
