How do you store your rain gear
How do you store your rain gear
I keep mine hanging in the garage until I am going to need it on the boat.
Long term - hanging in the house
Short term - in a dry bag in one of the rod lockers; always taken out to completely dry before using again
I hang the rain jacket and bibs on separate hangers in the garage......I put them in a mesh laundry type bag to bring them on and off the boat, makes them easier to carry and store in a bin on the boat
When I take it in the boat. I use a small duffle bag to put in
For in the boat I use 24" rubber giant twist ties. Roll up the coat throw that around it and they hardly take up any space at all.
I learned that hanging your rain gear in the garage exposes them to exhaust fumes, which isn't good for them. When I bought my Gore Tex boots from a rep, he stated that just starting your vehicle in the garage gives off more chemicals that can breakdown the fibers over a short time.
Roll Jacket and Bibs tightly together, then hold them together with heavy duty velcro strap. Store next to lifejackets in compartment behind drivers seat.
Small duffle bag in the boat, hanging in garage when drying.
Put mine in a dry bag for the boat.
I keep a cheaper set of frog toggs in the boat in a dry bag. My Gill insulated set stays hung up in my closet. I will wear it on days I need it and just throw it in a compartment if I don’t need it. When done for the day I dry it out and hang back up. I have never washed it just take a wet cloth and wipe any slime. It looks new and beads water great yet.
My good ones hanging in my shop or house. Frogg Toggs in the shop.
The Lighter stuff
It's in the Boat Bag.
The heavier stuff. I try not to fold it
It's up front in the middle box with Bibs
The only thing I keep in a zip lock is a pair of underwear and a tshirt
the boys like to be kept drie
One set in truck. Rain coat in travel trailer. Extra set in the boat.
This. Switched to keeping in a dry bag after pulling out wet rain gear one time....

Fish have fins, they swim
this is the best way I’ve found. Can get them almost completely flat and leave in compartment behind drivers seat. If I use the rain gear, I hang them under my covered porch until dry and then put them back in the bag
