Have caught a lot of fish on suspending Rogues, especially in the fall. Black back/gold sides/orange belly and blue back/silver sides/orange belly are the only colors I've ever needed.

I have several SmithWicks and it’s hard to beat their quality and balance. Good colors and finish can be found on most brands though. I like the X raps. I am a huge Rapala fan and have been since the 70’s, but for a jerk bait, SmithWicks are the berries also.

Rouges are very good, don't sleep on the floater.

I like the shadow raps from Rapala. It’s one of my best producing jerkbaits

I own pointers. MB, bomber and allot more
Rouges for a JB catch 80-90%
I believe it's White belly or Orange Belly
Blue back, chrome with a White belly is what I start with
Boatbuggy listed the Orange belly ones. Early morning or stained water

It’s my experience that it depends on the lake you’re fishing. I fish both, but an X Rap is preferred by the fish on one lake, but change locations to another lake, it’s the Rouge. Both are good jerks, along with many others, but sometimes the fish get the last word. Also, don’t be afraid to step outside the box. On the lake they prefer the Rouge, they also love it reeled straight in, it’s a shallow lake, so I must use a floater to keep it shallow. It’s been that way for years.

Don't be afraid to try many brands. Jerkbait fishing is a lot about the retrieve vs. bait. I like Jackal and Megabass, but also pointers and x-raps.

But for smallies, have a little orange or chartreuse on it. My best jerk is bone back with orange belly. Line size is big too. I like 10# fluoro.

For the Rogue guys. Which version do you prefer the most? Floater, perfect 10, suspending rattling rogue, or the suspending super rogue?

Been using Lucky Craft lately with good luck. Been using different colors but haven't really honed in a particular color.

I use the entire Rapala lineup - the Mavrik in Ghost Minnow has been getting it done this spring in 40-45 degree water temps. I reserve the XRap for warm water smallmouth.

My thumb is not too smart, so I include castability when choosing which jerkbait. I love my Berkley Stunna, but not so much into the wind. Lucky Craft Lightning Pointer casts better. Jackall Rerange casts the best.
I catch fish on all of them, but the Stunna is usually the first choice.

Careful with the rerange...... your partner may think someone is shooting at you......
