Lots of good ones previously mentioned, the ones I remember most are the 'old' school Bob Cobb 1/2 hour Bassmaster shows on TNN and watching them in my 20s. In no particular order...

    * Basil Bacon cracking them first day in a Megabucks Final. Had like 25# but don't recall the lake and he didn't win the event.
    * David Wharton slow rolling a spinnerbait in grass for a victory on Santee Cooper in 1993 if memory serves correct.
    * Mike Terry throwing a 1/4oz blue chrome trap for the win in 1993 in Alabama.

    This was a good one

Kevin Short winning Pickwick on a WEC E-1 in coffee slough. He had a big one eat his crankbait off a cypress stump that he was snagged on.

Man sadly enough I had this exact thought. Especially seeing the crowd at the ‘04 Classic with Tak winning. Maybe it was just the filming but it seemed so much bigger and more exciting than any recent ones. Kind of depressing to think of lol

    This!!!

Plus the tournament on the Alabama River that was flooded. That blue skeeter bouncing across rocks always come to my mind when I'm running skinny water!
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

It's tough with everyone knowing exactly how the day broke down with basstrack and live. In those edited 45 minute shows they could really stretch the truth and make a blowout derby seem like it was a nailbiter and paint a narrative.

Bryan Kerchal's epic win in the 1994 Bassmaster's Classic... and the unbelievable tribute to him at the 1995 Classic.

Peter T. keeping his bait wet. And the Lake Gaston grass story. I think I was just getting serious about bass fishing then and had an aluminum boat with a 25hp Merc. tiller back in NJ.

I won a Bass Pro Shop contest and I was a co angler for classic champ Tommy Martin in a tournament on Table rock lake. Bass Pro really made it a nice event. Ray Scott was the master of ceremonies and there were a lot of pros competing. I was even on TV for a small amount of time when the event was televised.

You’re not part of the community!
If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.
