I found the BEST solution.
I found the BEST solution.
What’s the solution ?
Two choices:
Either use the Velcro lure wraps, or take off your lures.
I do neither. I just take off my treble hook baits. The rest I leave on.
Good incentive to re-tie.
Those nylon socks are the easiest to get hooks out of. What is wrong with people? Do tgey really think its easier if the barb penetrates through neophrene?
Yup…lure wraps…can even buy at wally world now.
I like the sleeve tips and adjustable sleeve "tethers", but for my nylon rod sleeves I use Rod Glove Rod Savers, they come in 4", 8" and 12" lengths and attach to the end of the sleeve with a clip and wrap around the reel with an elastic band. Also my sleeves are long enough that once the lure is on the hook keeper, I can see the lure, and my sleeves have a loop on the tip so I can hang them with a nail or screw. TW sells the Rod Savers and they are dirt cheap too !
Just go with the neoprene. I use Buzbe absolutely no issues. For the few mesh I have left a just cut them so they can't reach the bait.

I push all my single hook baits to the bottom middle. All my spinners inboard and on the butt rack. And all my treble baits I push as far outboard as possible also on the butt rack. Sometimes they don’t all fit so I have to lay some down in the middle but. It works good. The wrist is laying your treble baits in the very bottom because when you pull all your rod sleeves off in the am and toss them in the box they’ll work there way and get snagged in the bottom and that’s where the cussing starts
Most any quality duo lock will do. Match the size and strength ratings to the line rating and lure sizes. I use VMC and Spro, Owner, and even the no brand name ones from Lure Parts online.
Sux that TW and others no longer carry Kahara snaps.
