Question 1998 Johnson Faststrike using exssevive oil

1998 Faststrike (J159GLECD) is using an excessive amount of oil. Might be a bad VRO but as I understand it could also be caused by turbulance or bubbles in the fuel line. Can this be checked by installing a piece of clear hose in the fuel line entering the VRO?
Just can't leave well enough alone!!

Yes is the answer to air causing the air motor to cycle too rapidly. Yes it the answer to putting a clear line in the fuel inlet side.
see the very informative artical on VRO operation. https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/VRO.html

Delete the oil injection and pre mix, that will fix those problems.
