Group 24 to group 27 batteries

I have a 2000 Triton TR 20 I have converted from 24 volt to 36 and used group 24 batteries, its time for new ones and the type I want I can only find in group 27 which are too long for my battery tray, I read somewhere to cut the end of the tray and use ratchet straps to secure them. Where would I attach the ratchet straps? The battery space is really tight and hard to reach. Thanks for any advice.

Take your batteries out, unscrew your battery tray from the floor, put strap under tray and screw tray back down to floor.Install batteries and strap them down.

Have you considered 50AH lithium’s. They are not unreasonably priced and if you’re currently running group 24 batteries 50AH should be plenty of power. Call Andy at Drewcraft and he can give you some very specific information on them.

I have a tray that holds two group 27 batteries. I have this one at the link below with the stainless buckle. It works well. I recently trimmed the end off so that I could put two group 31 batteries in the same space.
