    300 HP more common?

With everything going up in price and size in fishing how long before 300 horsepower motors become normal in high level tournaments?

I am kinda surprised that the big tournaments don’t allow what ever the boat is rated for.

no surprise there if they were allowed to have 300 hp with all the bad judgment fishermen use there would be a lot more accidents not going to happen.

How much more damage can you really do with a 300 than you can do with a 250.

A 300 would honestly be a better engine for a lot of the big wide body 21 footers. That said I’m not sure BASS wants guys throwing that motor on Eyras and pushing into the 80s

If coanglers just learned to swim better maybe we could push more 450r's on transoms.

Yep, the coast guard doesn’t regulate hp on boats over 20’. It’s all about how much you want to pay out.

Just let them use a 450R & limit it to a certain % of the throttle

Both my previous 2016 Puma/250 SHO and my current 2022 Cougar/250 ProXS would, and will do, 80 with the 250. An Eyra is a touch faster, so 80+ with a 250 is already possible.

I hit over 80 with my Cougar/250 SHO a time or two.

80 is possible in a Bass Cat with a 250, but probably not the way the Elites load up their boats.

No reason not to allow a 300.

We are only talking a few extra MPH.

According to the tech data i read the ProXS 250 puts out 276 HP, while the 300 comes in at 296 & the 300R at 316 HP.

Makes me wish I went either straight 250 or 300R

Since I never go over 55 and cruse at 45 I am afraid I would bog down a 300 and carbon it up.

I agree and Not Fair Chase - I mean really, how fast can fish swim?
If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.
