so you had a vizio that went 10+ years but you heard from your brother in laws 2nd third cousin squared that they're going "downhill"..

Go to walmart and buy the one that you like the picture the best that has the features you want, they're all pretty much the same now,,

    Don’t overlook an Insignia.

I bought my parents this one and was really impressed with it. Picture quality is very good and the operating system is better than most I’ve used. Way better operating system than Samsung IME.

Does it even matter anymore? They either work or they don't and all are disposable. All have a better picture than my B&W 13" selector dial 13 channel RCA I had as a kid!
If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

We have two of the 55” Insignia F30 class in our RV, one in the living room and one in the garage, flex space. Im pretty impressed with them overall. From the research i have done they are built by LG and if you try to connect to one via bluetooth it presents itself as an LG.

Personally after my last Visio which i literally gave away when we sold our house, i would not buy another. I was never happy with that TV.

I think I decided on the LG 55" smarty TV. Best Buy $359...we're on our way. Can't believe it...I bought my first flat screen, a 50" Samsung Plasma for $1100. Gas may be three bucks a gallon but you can have all the big screen TV's you want....what a wonderful world.

Absolutely get an OLED (if you want the best picture quality and TRUE blacks). When it comes to OLED’s, its LG or Sony.

I've had both, few Samsung and one LG....sound is an issue as you have to turn on off several times for it to start working...had a Samsung that eventually lost power or picture.....but current two are a few urs old and doing good... also have 2 Insignias (older) and pure junk...
