Transducer choice GT8 or GT15 thru hull

New to Garmin trying to make the right choice on a thru hull transducer between GT8 and GT15 anybody have experience with these transducers please chime in thanks in advance

I have both in same boat...used 15 first then got the 8 after a while. Personally I like the 8....also 8 is easier to install.

IDK, but wouldn't think most bassboats have enough deadrise to require the 15.

wouldn't the 15 read bottom better at higher speed with 600 watts vs 8 at 250 watts

Not in my situation....both read just fine at high speed....didnt see a difference.....

I haven't had an issue of with my 8 reading at high speeds.

Update I found out that my new 126 model only has one transducer port so im running a gt56 off my jackplate on a transducer shield saver I found out I would have to install a gt36 and a gt8 and use a splitter cable to read 2d off one side and side/down off the other? Has anybody had this issue I can't believe garmin don't make available shoot thru hull that will work with the gt56. I can also mount to the step pad where my factory lss2 was originally. I'm just lost on how to get the 2d?

The gt8 - gt36 w/ Y connector combo is what you want GT36-TM Transducer Bundles | Garmin
gt36 is imaging without sd
gt56 is both
The gt36 will go where you have the 56 on the plate, it looks the same physically , has the same sidescan ability .
Maybe use the 56 on the TM if it will fit or sell it or trade it in on the combo unit , RMP will take it on trade

Or add it to the collection of gt54`s in the garage most Garmin folks have

This is nothing new always been this way. This is why they sell the unit by it self. You buy 126 with out transducer then buy the 36/8 combo.
