I once heard he was religious to a point ( Jewish) that they did not drive cars or turn on microwaves/ovens/tvs on Sundays. Not sure if that was true or not.

I don't know how true that is either but I read a headline this morning that summed him up as the first Jewish VP nominee. That struck me as kinda sad to have a long accomplished career and be defined in that way. RIP Joe

He was on Imus quite a bit. To the best of my knowledge he adhered to traditional Jewish Sabbath. He is the only non R I ever cast a vote for when he ran as an independent for Ct governor I believe. A genuinely decent man. His notice of death on ABC site was the first I heard of his passing. He was slandered heavily by Dems in the comments which speaks volumes of their character traits.

He didn't let anyone persuade him from his views.

I should have given my opinion when I made the post. He put our country first, and no particular political party. I think a person like that is damn hard to find if not impossible at this time. May you Rest In Peace Joe.
