Some of it is done to catch more impressions. If it stands out it helps the overall marketing impression.

I dropped the rear of my 2011 reg cab 3" to get it to set level with no load. Not a lot of tounge weight on my trailer. And yes, I did have to adjust my headlights.

I will never lift or level a tow rig. Mpg drops. Steering parts wear out prematurely.

I wouldn't mod a truck at 142k miles. No way. That truck is running great in happy land. It's like giving a 90 year old viagra and a 30 year old girlfriend - he may find out things about his heart that didn't show up in routine testing. I'd leave it alone, or buy a new truck, spend the money on the lift, and enjoy it for a long time. Just my .02

Super Lift is far superior in my opinion.

At this point it’s part of the “uniform” along with the wrapped boat and truck. Guy wants to stand out he should lower the truck (I wouldn’t either)

I was/am debating on looking for another truck or keeping this one. My thought was that if I keep this one, I will do a few things that I've wanted to do and then keep it until it stops. So, I started looking at lifts/leveling kits. Nothing more than 3", as I do not want any advanced work or cutting to be done.

I received a quote of $2,600 to remove the current air ride suspension and install a 3" leveling kit.

Seems high to me. I figured I could get a 3" lift for that cost (installed). However, I've never had it done so I am not that informed on it.

    Thoughts regarding cost......
That cost seems legit depending on the level kit. No pucks, they suck. New ride height struts with UCA’s, plus removing that air ride is a bit of labor. It won’t ride worse with air ride removed and a proper system installed nor will it wear on your steering like some mentioned, lol. With a 3” you will also need taller springs in the back as well as new longer shocks. The air ride are known to fail and are expensive to replace. A lot of guys are deleting them. If you go this route, make sure to keep an inch of rake. Rams look nose high perfectly level as well as to account for squat from a trailer. It’s your truck so do as you please to make it what you want! Good luck!

Not stand out to their 99 peers. Stand out to the rest of the population.

You don't have to eliminate the air suspension. I lifted mine with a BDS 4" kit and still have all 5 height settings. This pic is in "Off-Road II" mode. Their stuff is great quality, but a little pricy. There are other companies that offer kits that work with the air ride.

That is a good looking truck. Nice wheels. Glad I am not the only one that like a little shine in the wheels. Can’t stand a Black truck or car with black wheels. Just ain’t right to me. JMO though.

That's a good point, you can almost guarantee they are getting talked to every time they stop for gas.

Because one can. Pretty simple really. Looks better, doesn’t effect ride if done right and not to high. My truck rides better than stock tows a load fine if not better and looks a ton better. Honestly don’t understand why others care so much about something that has zero effect on them.

I knew that was coming! Thus the honest? remark. I did the other way for years with lowered show trucks. We traveled to shows all over the Midwest and won several awards. I just wondered if they still do the same with lifted truck's? Or if it was used for rugged off road use.
