    Check out this time capsule!

Being put on my boat now. Incredibly clean 1997 intruder. Under the cowl it looks brand spanking new! My mechanic was dumbfounded at how clean it is. Supposedly was on a pontoon boat that repowered to a 4 stroke. Compression all between 122 and 125. Runs great. I think I got super lucky! I am very excited as I had been nursing a sick motor for a couple years now.

dad bought a old boat with a johnson one time to use the engine on his boat. the motor looked like it had 1-2 hrs use and was spotless inside and out, but was many yrs old. that engine ran great until he sold it--hopefully you have the same thing. trying to avoid alcohol gas will be important

Beautiful motor. I'd pay really good money for another one. Love my '98. Mine is wet inside. I have to fuel leaks to find. But it is still going strong. (Thank You Lord)
Hang on. I'll help you in 77 minutes.

Was the 1997 Intruder the one year that had the “hot” cylinder heads that actually put out a lot more than the allowed limit of HP. I’m thinking it went over the 10% allowance and actually had something like 197 hp. I don’t know the full details but I’m thinking there is a limited number of 150’s in that timeframe that are sought motors because of extra HP.

That would be 1991 model year. The 150 was around 165 hp and the 175 was about 190 HP.
