What is the thing you worry about most while driving your boat

For me it has always been water skiers or tubers. Every time they are around I have my head on a swivel since they sometimes turn without looking or pull someone across your patch. I remember when I was younger and we were at Torch Lake and a water skier got run over and killed. We saw the boats collecting the body. Ever since then I try to keep a very healthy distance from skiers and tubers and always try to scan the water in front of me for a dropped skier or tuber.

For me it’s other bass boats and ghost waves a close second.

I don't know why but I have this thing with the steering breaking at high speed.

rogue waves, innatentive/ uneducated boaters, tubers, skiers, and kayakers out where they shouldn't be in bad conditions, they are very hard to see sometimes, unmarked rockpiles etc. P.s. people running wfo in the fog, see it way too often, someone is gonna get killed this way someday.

Hitting something submerged at speed and getting ejected or the motor coming into the boat causing bad things to happen to my wife or kids.

I don’t worry. I go slow through areas I’m not familiar with…even idling. I keep up with the maintenance on the rig. Stuff still can happen. I’ve had one motor completely fall off after breaking a jackplate, and a collision with another bass boat that totaled my last rig. So I’m into 2 of the 9 lives.

Another for submerged objects. I've ran by several full blown trees suspended a few inches under the water in 20+ fow. Absolutely no way to see them until it's too late.

This is my biggest fear too.

Loss of steering running WFO is a close second.

Mine…. Not sure on correct order but all worry me, and I only run about 30mph top speed..
motor breaking down far from launch(less fear now that I have a new 4stroke)
Rounding a turn in the marsh and there’s a dang camo color kayak fishing…
someone coming out of a ditch that I’m going in to(them ditches are narrow)

worst fear, hitting a log…I run upriver occasionally and hit one last year and broke my motor mount…. (I’m still shell shocked from that so much that if I have any doubts where I’m at, I shut down and just idle and let my gps track it so I can run back the same path)

    Ditches be crazy, for sure.

My worst fear (other than injuring someone else) is definitely hitting a submerged log or stump. Getting stuck on a tidal flat would be a close second.

This...my motor turns 33 years old this year. A couple minor issues over the years that were fairly easy fixes. But man these vintage Intruders just were built well.

I run a Leash on my motor, but I fish Santee, so always a matter of if and not when you will hit something.

Rogue waves that sneak up on me get most of my attention when I'm wide open and hauling. They can sneak up on you quick and at those speeds it gets sporty quick.

    Hitting a swimmer.

Almost hit some guy swimming in the middle of the lake once. Choppy day and I didn't see him until the last second.
