    Hambys came loose

I guess I backed up over a stump today. I hen I did. The rear of my hambys pulled loose, probably about 6” of it. What is the best way to fix this? Try to epoxy it back or trim it off?

I believe that a Hamby's has a lifetime warranty. I would call them on Monday and perhaps they can refer you to a local installer who can repair it for free.

I don't own one. If I did I think I'd use carburetor cleaner to take off any dirt and residue. I've used shoe glue that's some incredible stuff. If nothing else I'd cut the loose stuff off if it wouldn't stick back on.

I'd probably use 4200 to stick it back down.

From my Excel spreadsheet - new boat Dealer (nearby) installed my Hamby's Light in 2009. It's still on there.

My Hamby's Light Lifetime warranty card - to original purchaser, 'against wear and adhesion failure during normal use of your boat, for as long as you own your boat'.

Its very rare that one of the heavy duty models come loose. I'm not saying its not possible but it is a rare occurrence on the heavy duty model. I was thinking they have a lifetime warranty to the orgional purchaser. I very well could be wrong but if you find out something let us know how it goes.

I would advise not doing this. Mine came loose and I tried this. The 4200 did not hold, and then you have the issue of getting the 4200 off when you end up doing it right.

Just don’t want you to make the same mistake I did.

I'd contact the dealer that installed the Hamby's.

Had mine come loose on a brand new boat. Called Hamby's and they told me to just glue it back down, contacted the dealer and Hamby's told them the same. Used 4200 and never had another issue although I would have thought either the dealer or Hamby's would have handled it a little better.
