Tuffskinz Mercury V8 ProXS vented cover

I have this posted in the Merc 4 stroke forum, but I figured it would get more traffic here.

Who has any experience with this cover with the velcro oil door access flap option? I'm wanting to know how durable the velcro is. I know they make quality covers that will last years, and I'm sure they use a quality velcro. I'm just looking for real world experiences.

Are these covers used to keep the cowling paint all pretty or to cover up old ugly faded paint?

^^^^Yes, keeps Co's from bouncing lead weights off cowling and saves the scratches from brush/tree limbs. Personal preference for the most part if your anal about your boat/investment.

Either lol. Personally I like it mostly to keep the bugs off when trailering.

If you don't clean your motor before you put a cover on, I could see where it might. But the one I had on my 2 stroke for 5 years have no scuffs or scratches.

Mine is 5 years old and may be just a tad faded but really works great and the motor cowl looks new.
