Exclamation I've been wrong before, but never this wrong!

I got a big kick out of the author's statement that "Rock and Roll was a fad that died when Elvis was drafted into the Army."

He might be the same guy that called for closing the patent office 100 years ago because everything useful had already been invented

Damn, Mr. Jones that sounds a bit bitter and perhaps a bit jealous....I remember my very successful uncle Rick from Knoxville saying while "Something" was playing on the radio during a family outing "The Beatles - in 20 years nobody will have ever heard of them" sorry Uncle Rick - you were smart only most of the time......

There's always a lot of gasping and pearl clutching when anything new and innovative comes along.
    Don't worry Ma'am....

My wife absolutely loves the Beatles. Me? Not so much. I call them the first boy band and it riles her up....

She should get riled up. A boy band is a band like the Monkeys who were auditioned and put together in a studio with others who were auditioned. The Beatles formed by knowing each other.

I watched that show. I wasn't the only one. A lot of us flattop sporting guys laughed at them until our girlfriends started eyeing boys with longer hair. Right about then, My Uncle Sam decided how long my hair would be for 4 years+.
I'm 81 now. I think the Beatles were the greatest musicians of the 20th century.

The Beatles will never amount to anything.

My GFs sister was overwhelmed by watching the Sullivan show. Her mom laid into her pretty good about it. It still bothers my GF 50 years later. Her sister was at the Shea stadium concert. It was a really Big Shoooooow
