On boat carpet it works good just a lot of work but the results make it worth it to me.

I've heard guys say it can make your carpet sticky/gummy feeling. IDK, I haven't tried it.

When my boat carpet needs cleaning after a day on the water, when I get home, raise the front of the boat, pull the drain plug (usually out anyway) and hose down with water, any stain will be harder to remove if you let it set or dry/harden and that includes blood, chocolate, coffee, scents etc.

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

That stuff is just shaving cream in a different bottle.

I had my boat re-carpeted three weeks ago. When I picked it up installer recommended shaving cream to clean the carpet

I kind of tend towards that too. I don't really understand using lemon pledge or shaving cream when products made for the actual job at hand are cheaper, and in the case of lemon pledge the other products offer some UV protection.

I use the 3m carpet shampoo pretty heavily diluted in a spray bottle and scrubbed in with a stiff long handled carpet brush. Works great

Hmmm... never heard of shaving cream being used for this, but I do use it for breaking in my son's baseball gloves and it works like a champ.

    Cheap shaving cream works---it's soap.

I like dishwasher powder. 1/4 cup to 1 gallon of hot water.

Wet down small areas of carpet with hot water first before applying the solution then scrub it in.

Tried the shaving cream once and it's a messy job. I normally use water/white vinegar 50/50 mix in a spray bottle. Just soak carpet spray with mix and scrub with a brush and rinse and vacuum dry. Fully cleans carpet with no residue left behind.
