    garmin ethernet cables

    Good evening,

    I bought the connectors from garmin to make my own ethernet cables. My question is do they need to be wired as crossover or straight through?

    Rumor has it that Garmin units are auto sensing and I trust the source but the instructions show a crossover.

    Garmin Port Expanders are auto sensing but they do prefer cross over configs. I have tested both pass thru and X overs and have seen some strange activities on power up. Mind you I do have 5 plotters which can magnify the issues.

    Thanks for the info.
    Well i will agree that they are auto sensing. the cables i made are straight through, i did not follow the instruction LOL.
