    Z520c Rub Rail Insert Bulging

2016 Z520c rub rail is bulging a bit midway down the port side. It is not outside of the slot but looks like it is trying to get there.

I am sure there is an easy fix for this, I just don't know what it is.

Anyone fixed this in the past?

    Information is truly appreciated.

IDK the 520, but my rail insert issues have generally been the cap/hull screws working their way out.

Yep. Pry the insert away from the bulge area and tighten the screws.

I used a heat gun, warmed it up and pushed right back in!

    Hope that helps!

If it’s in the sun they pull out and in easy. If it’s bulged the screws are probably loose

There will be a whole lot more than one screw loose. Best to do on a 90 degree day pull it all out and tighten them all.

Yup use the 4200, or they will forsure keep backing out again.

Same thing going on with my '17 520C..... got a time setup with dealer early next month to replace rub rail and bought a tube of 3M 5200 (black color) to keep screws from backing out.
Going to reuse my insert but the main rub rail had a few "dock/tree bang marks" that are eye sores.... just another $1k job

5200 is too permanent for my taste 4200 better to use

4200 semi permanent will not come loose again (unless you want them to)
