    Beautiful fish.
Those were the days in San Diego.
Several times there were multiple 20+ lb limits at weigh in.
A friend caught back to back 10lb fish at Hodges at our club tournament.
Here is an article of one of the clubs in the 70's.

I was going out to get a rental boat one day on Murray and there was a 17lb on a bed right by the dock, they don't let you fish around the dock. :(

At San V. one time when the trout truck showed up, never seen so many 8+ lb bass in one area, they knew and were waiting for the feast to begin.

My wife had a big one on Murray once, I got a good look at her in the water, a DD for sure, broke off right by the boat. Not a really big one but still a pig.

Of all the San Diego lakes, Murray was my favorite for numbers and El Cap was best for me for size.

I made the original DD thread and I was hoping you would share a pic of this fish! Dude... that is a pig! Congratulations, you've done something that millions in this country will only ever dream of doing. Pretty cool and thanks for sharing!

Lake Casitas in Ventura County was another lake that you could see them line up waiting to be fed.
There was predictions made on it being where the next record would come from because of the trout stocking.

Did you change your name to avoid all the publicity of the catch?

Wasn't Casitas where a firefighter caught a 20+ monster from back in the 80's? I fished that lake with by youngest brother over 15 years ago, just praying for a 10+ bite, but our biggest was just a 3lb baby. That lake is pretty close to my brother in the Santa Barbara area.

It would be cool to see some of those California lakes come back. I heard water levels have come back up so maybe there will be a turn for the better with big bass from them again. @jvtudr64 I believe you are talking about Bob Crupi.

Congrats on the fish of a lifetime. What a rush that must have been.
