When I used to fish club tournaments as a "non-boater", I would bring a small cooler or dump my water and food in his boat cooler, small tackle bag with a little bit of everything and 4 rods. In one club tournament we had to use my first boat (14ft. tiller) because the boaters boat was in the shop, anyway I picked him up from his home and he had about 20 rods, big tackle bag and this was for a 4 hour afternoon tournament ! I'm not making this up !

I always have carried way more than I ever needed. Usually throw the same things everywhere but for some reason I feel that I need more than I use. On trips that I have taken the basics I seem to fish better not thinking about what I might should be using and just concentrate on the basic lures.
