For certain you don't want ANY breaks while doing brakes along with pads without breaks.

The talented ones can actually separate the surface of the rotor from the hub and provide a ring.......

used to be a NAPA gold type, but now the power stop performance pads and rotors are what I am using. They have very good quick stopping power and priced very well.

Thanks for rubbing my emotional scars. Sept 30th 2019 and I was getting ready for a tournament the next morning when I clotheslined myself on a 2x6 used to hold a a section of fence. 5 days later I started my brakes. First I applied some rust restore on the front end of the vehicle after sanding with a wire brush then applied a topcoat over the restorer. Took most of the weekend. I also had to change a section of brakeline to the calipers passenger side. I was playing bumper pool with my head on the chasis. 2 days later I couldnt count parts at work. Concussion and TBI from the strike to my temple at full stride. Front brakes and rotors are still on the cellar stairs. I keep a spare set of rotors that I have turned prior to changing pads. 2002 Tundra and when they get changed it will be the 4th set of pads in 172k miles.

Just writing about gives me pain in my temple and makes me light headed. I then suffered a second head injury 10 days after the first getting something in the attic. Doctors placed me on disability from work and the company laid me off. By the time I had a scan and saw a neurologist Feb 2020 Covid started and I contracted a severe case before they knew what it was. Neurologist told me I had dementia and it took 18 months to walk it back. Then things got fun. March 2022 I stood up under a cabinet I had installed in my kitchen the day before and poked a hole in my scalp to my skull. I rinsed and repeated the whole TBI again. The whole process from start to finish cost me a job following each incident.

I'm at 153,000 miles a 2001 Ram 1500 so far no noise, but I know it will be time to change the pads soon.
