As part of my job we pick up debris left over after accidents. Another guy and I cleaned up a where a couple semis had got tangled up last week. I looked down and found a stack of brand new $100 bills. We got in the truck and started counting them out 99 to be exact!
We are trying to figure out what to do with the money.

Wow! Are they real? Were they associated with the debris from the semi accident you were policing?
I think I would start by contacting a bank and ask if they can verify identify and or track the bills. Depending on what they advise I would either contact a trusted local authority and advise what you've found or, sit on it until I've investigated and convinced myself that there is no rightful owner to be found. At the end of the day I think would at least spend a good 15-20 minutes trying to find the rightful ownerCould be dirty money
