Ultrex keeps jumping up..not locking!

Not locking when deployed !!
Latch bar replaced…
dealer says “lube lube”…
I did but either missed exactly what to lube …
still does not lock down when deployed …
using a small bungee tie down is not my future!
any help appreciated…
seems after back from dealer the Spot Lock
no work either!!! grrr Anything on that?

You either have the pivot bushings out or you have a twist in the mount. Look at the upper arm and see if there are any rub marks on one side or the other. Remove the side plates and to the rear of the mount you will see two trox screws on either side. On the outer edge of that circle are the bushings. One or both are probably broken. I would replace both. If that looks good then you may have a twist in the base. To fix that it is easier to do by removing the motor first then loosen all the hold down screws. Snug all of them down and then tighten one a little at a time and use the cross pattern to prevent the twist from happening again. They do not need to be gorilla tight, but tight.

At dealer today he assured me it was fixed after a heavy lubing of those two pivoting areas at the end of the troll mount…
said that was his experience as the fix…
could be… got boat 5 years old with 36 engine hours so it sat somewhere in dock or shed a lot…
any lube could be dried by now…
I barely loosened the screw on each side in that area which in theory should loosen up the pivoting …
fishing tonorrow so we shall soon know!

Since either you or your dealer changed the latch bar and now it doesn't latch, I think that area is where I would start.

(because it would not lock down I replaced the latch bar last month)

Update: still not lock down on the river today so printed out advice here &
made Tuesday appt at best dealer in the area… so expect solution this week.

Other issue — Troll has ducer attached and is the only other issue…side scan very weird so
Lowrance guy there will look at settings n ducer attachment…

Left boat 3/16 with big dealer who has been best at solving anything…
Gave them copy of “troll jumping” fix advice here to use if needed…
was told side scan issue “is a settin” so will show me Tuesday that when they get to my boat…
will have ready Tues/Wed next week…

Update: Big dealer found a piece of plastic jamming the troll so would not lockdown… fast easy fix…
As far as the sonar sidescan half screen it was cut in ducer line so new ducer installed today…
they are checking Spot Loc…
Will pickup boat by 4pm TODAY 3/19
