Is it any good? Anyone here like it? I don't remember ever having it before but I bought a 12-pack at Sam's yesterday. Cracked one open tonight and wasn't impressed with the first sip. Put a lime wedge in it and it was drinkable (kinda like a lot of Mexican beers). Maybe I'll just stick with ales.

I like the Negra Modelo better. Enjoyable on a hot summer day with a little lime and salt.
Not the worst beer I've ever had. I dont drink Mexican beer often, but when I do, it's Dos Equis.

Beer in clear bottles gets light stuck, skunky and the lime mask that.
I've only had it on tap and thought it was pretty good but then again I'm not that picky
I started with Negro Modelo about 30 years ago (in Mexico) and also drink Modelo Especiale depending upon the time of year. Lately I've been drinking Modelo Oro. I have no use for ales and do not consider myself a beer aficianado.

Modelo bottle with a lime is a top quality item!

Coincidentally, I went to get takeout for the wife and I at our local favorite Mexican restaurant. I will sit at the bar and have a beer while I wait on the food. Was very indecisive tonight so asked the Mexican bartender which beer out of Modelo and Dos Equis Amber he would get. He just went over to the taps and poured me the Dos Equis.
I like it and has become my go to recently. But then I have "progressed" from Milwaukee Best, to Natural Light, to Coors Light, and now Modelo so you may not want to pay much attention to my opinion.

Go for pacifico if you want a mexican light lager that's mass produced.

I’ve never been a fan of IPA, dark color or foreign beer. When discussing beer with some coworkers one convinced me to give Modelo a try so I bought a six pack of bottles. I dank one and didn’t care for it. A few days later I tried another and I still didn’t like it. I saw my neighbor out one day and motioned him over to my garage. I ask if he like Modelo and he said he never tried it. I gave him the 4 I had left. A few days pass and I ask him about his thoughts and he said it’s a little like skunk but I’m not pouring out beer even if it’s free. I’ll stick with good Ol Coors, Budweiser or another form of what I call regular American beer.

The Negra is a nice change now and then but I prefer a Corona over the plain Modelo.
