So I bought the clip then saw the cotter pin fix. Left cotter pin in truck yesterday by accident while prefishing. It was windy as hell. Couple of hours into the day on a run the 126sv popped free. Luckily it landed on my deck and I was able to grab it. Used cotter pin all day today in the wind without any issues.

I bought these last year, look to be 3D-printed, but so far they've taken being put on and removed a few times without breaking...cheaper than the DD26 option, but time will tell if they hold up.

You didn't have the clip on it when it came loose, did you?

No. I didn't have DD26 or cotter pin in place yesterday.

Yeah, I don't know why some of these pop loose and others don't. It's very odd.

I'm pretty good about checking to make sure it's locked. It took it a few hours of running in the rough water before it came loose.

    Yep, no holes required.

Do you think that the spring mechanism for the tabs is weak or maybe the tabs aren't long enough to maintain the lock.

I should look at the mechanism closer but I just have never had a single issue with one coming loose. Doesn't mean I don't worry about it, though, given all the reports on here.

I honestly don't know. You would think if it was widespread perhaps they would address it. Tgen again an aftermarket product addresses it so it much happen enough to warrant something making a solution.

I have one. Hasn't moved on me yet. Clips onto place and it's fairly difficult to remove. I have mine tethered to the other graph mount with some old flyline because I know I would lose it otherwise.

I'm gonna go with this... it's my legacy Champion hull that slices through the rough stuff so well that I can sip tea without spilling a drop. It's so smooth that even on the worst days on Mead my partner can tie a FG knot as we come out of Callville Bay. My back has never felt so good as after a day on windy Mohave. I could forget to latch my graphs down and they wouldn't budge an inch. No reason to think they would ever come loose.

    How's that?

I have a 126 on my bow. I’ve yet to have it come loose. I also never take it off my boat. But to think it won’t come loose is crazy. I did buy a dd26 clip and we will see.

I use the cotter clip/hitch pin clip more for the security from theft. If I'm stopping at a convenience store or similar it makes it harder for someone to just pop one out of the cradle and steal it.
