Question about factory jackplate install

Hi i was wondering (or hoping) if the factory uses 5200 to seal the jackplate to the transom? Asking because of an absolute nightmare of a job changing a skeeter plate once. I am expecting a install on a 24 puma soon and just dont want to rip half the gelcoat off when doing so. I am hoping they use silicone like a normal person would. Thanks in advance

It is silicone on the jack plate install. Should be comparable to higher quality silicone products, though not a branded product. Using wooden door shim wedges helps with the removal. Be sure you go on with a 6 bolt plate when installing a replacement.
