From the sounds of this thread I'm going to start planning a week long trip Monday Tuesday on Hartwell and Thursday Friday on Lanier and extra day in the middle to do something other than fishing or spend an extra day on Lanier or Hartwell. And I'll have the option of stopping and doing some time on Norman since I will drive right over it. That'll be something to look forward to in 2025.

Travel on the weekends and fish the weekdays to try and avoid some of the boat traffic mention especially on Lanier

I enjoyed my time at Chatuge Lake last year. I caught my first spot, but it wasn't a bruiser by any means, maybe a hair over 2lbs.

I want to go to Lanier sometime too. I have heard very good things on the fishing there.

Chatuge in the late summer when they're schooling hard is on my bucket list.

Just North of Lake Lanier is lake Burton. A beautiful lake, a smaller lake but it has a good amount of spots too.

Trade a trip, Northern smallmouth/largemouth on Lake Winnebago for GA spots on Lanier.

Norman for spots. They stocked Norman with F1 fingerlings a while back. The spots ate the fingerlings and got big.

Come to Bull Shoals and catch all three species with the occasional Walleye mixed in.

Agree. I grew up in Chatsworth, GA and now live in Dalton, GA so fish there often. I have caught two 5+ spots there. Not a numbers lake, at least not for me anyway, but big ones swim there.
