    Mistake Made!!!

Well, I started making my own jigs and pouring my own plastics this winter. I thought this would save me some money. Now I’m addicted to buying cnc molds. Help me

Went down this road like 4-5 years ago. You're doomed. It just gets worse and worse. Wait til you break out the custom hand brush and airbrush gun to make your plastics ultra realistic. Sticking to simple 2 tone colors and some glitter cant be enough.... nope pour the color changing powders and break out the stencils and throw a little paint on each one and you have a plastic that looks as good as a custom crankbait.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF BAIT MAKING! The possibilities are truly endless.

I've thought about making my own plastics. I've also thought about the rabbit hole it would create. Like once you open Pandora's box you can't close it!

I got tooled up to do plastics but the first time I tried it out I got a horrible headache induced by the plastisol. That stuff can put me on my knees.

I had a friend who really got into a similar obsession and his wife wasn’t upset at him spending time and money with his new found creative pursuit.

Her comment about it was “It keeps him out of the Bars”

There are worse ways to spend money. You enjoy fishing and you enjoy creating lures to use while you’re fishing. Sounds like a win win situation to me.

There's a lot worse that you could be spending your time and money doing.

I started building jigs then I added painting baits. Shortly thereafter I started handpouring swimbaits and shooting a lot of my own soft plastics.

Gonna learn how to replace rod guides etc soon as well.

Im not creative in any way. I fish and I hunt. My wife plays piano and paints and does artistic things. Now I’m making and painting jigs. And pouring plastic baits with colours and glitters. And I have started to look at the air paint guns. This is not going to be good.
