Tried scoping yesterday but couldn't increase gain higher than 59 without the screen turning to solid showing clutter. I normally run around 70 to help seeing jig. Any idea the cause. At Fork in Texas so possibly pollen? Thx

Yep a lot of it is pollen. I had same problem yesterday in certain creeks. Almost floating mats of it.
When the pollen gets heavy, it definitely impacts the image. Happens every year on my home lake. Lasts a few weeks depending on the weather.
In late spring the pollen will get to around 15 feet on lake Cumberland & it will definitely mess with you.

I have the same issue with algae at Clear Lake. Color limit somewhat corrected the issue.

New to LVS, but was watching Jones TM/Castledine setup vid and Jones recommends setting Color Gain at 90 and using TVG set to low if you have pollen/particulate heavy water, otherise they recommend leaving TVG set to OFF. I have seen other/older vids recommending Color Gain in the 60% range, I guess that's on older software? Anyway, as stated new to LVS so don't know which is correct/better but am trying out Jones's recs with pretty good results so far...
